I got approval on 21st July, still waiting the invitation letter. Is there anyone at Cambridge Council? Is anyone know where the Ceremony will take place? Because Cambridge Council will not have the Ceremony after the lockdown.

Hi,
An update from the Bristol City Council. I called them this morning and:

- They have not received my certificate yet (the citizenship application approved on 22nd of July and I have not received an invitation letter as well),

- I should wait until Monday to see if my invitation letter arrives,

- I was told to give them a ring on Tuesday as they will receive a new batch of the certificates,

- You need an invitation letter to book the citizenship ceremony.

Cheers,
otuel
An update from today:

- No invitation letter,

- Bristol City Council does not have my certificate - I have been advised to give them a call on Friday.
We have the same approval date and council , thank you for sharing. Do you call or email the council. I emailed on Monday but received no response..

I was told what was confirmed by others here.

They will receive July batches by early next week as the HO informed them of a big batch :)

Hopefully, it's all good soon :)

Hello Everyone,
Any update from H&F council?
Any one that asked them if they received batch please update us.
I can also smell trouble the Home Office are not sending invitation letter and the council's threatening to cancel the booking if you don't receive your letter.
This looks like catch 21

Hello Everyone I hope you guys are fine. I have been following the thread quite a while as I am in the same situation as well.
I think if I am not wrong somewhere in previous post someone mention about the HO courier issue. That they are having problem with there courier.
I think this could be the reason in delay I mean why would the stop sending certificate and stick on point it will be clear by end of October. (Till 7th of August approvals). They didn't send any in tge last couple of weeks and suddenly sending all in this week.
I have my friend in siuation too he has he ILR decision a month ago but still waiting for Biometric Card.
By the way I am 28th Sept Approval. If I dont have my invite next month it will cost me alot in the future.

Thanks for the update. I’m with Slough Council too. 2nd of July approval. I’ll ring them tomorrow (Friday) and check if they’ve arrived. Will keep you posted.

Hi all,
Camden council also advised to call them tomorrow (Friday), as they're supposed to receive a batch today.
I was approved on 20 July - hopefully my certificate and letter are on the way.

Hi Everyone

Having the backlog cleared for up to the 7th August by end of this week is really great news!

However am just wondering what would be the situation for the late August, September and early October approvals; are they going to wait till 2021 to get their invitation letters???

Also am not sure why are councils reluctant to inform the callers if their certificates are received or not.

I'm on H&F as well, but my last update from them is from mid-September. They didn't reveal the dates of the last certificates nor how often they were receiving them. I asked twice, apparently they don't like sharing that information. They don't do virtual ceremonies and they don't book ceremonies without the invitation letter from the Home Office. Thus, I'm stuck waiting for the H.O. =(

I got nothing today either.

I contacted my council (again!) and they yet again said nothing has been received. Although I think they are just copying and pasting the same response because they are getting tired of my emails rather than actually checking if anything has arrived.

Hopefully it's true that the councils will be getting the certificates by the end of the week but with the way the HO has been dealing with the whole backlog, I highly doubt this will turn out to be true.

Hi,

I have been following this forum for quite a while now and thought I'd share this.
Approved: July 16
Council: Westminster

I haven't received the letter yet, but I tried today to book the ceremony online anyway and it worked! So they have my certificate at the Council.

6 ceremonies are available to book: Nov 4 and Nov 10 (3 per day)

Hope it helps!
