IHS Fee for NHS Workers for Spouse settlement VISA extension

My visa is due to be extended as Spouse Settlement Category. My husband is a British National. I am currently working in a Hospital. I would like to know if I can get the IHS fee waived off as I am in essential worker category within NHS?

In your case, you are not exempt from the IHS (because you are not in the UK on a Tier 2 Health and Social Care visa), but you will be eligible for a refund of the IHS in six monthly blocks (because you are directly eligible and working for the NHS).
