Dependent Visa extension- Right to work

Hi there,
I have applied for a skill worker dependent visa extension. My current BRP has expired but I have applied for the extension before the expiry date. Can you provide answers to the following questions?
1. Do I still have the right to continue working until a decision has been made by the home office?
2. If my employer carries out a right to work check, how likely is it to show that i have the right to work?
