UK passport needed for baby before OCI?

Hello Experts,

Request your advice and guidance on my query.

We are from India living in the UK. My baby (4 months) old has been registered as British Citizen. Both my wife and I are still India passport holders. We would like to apply for OCI card for the baby.
1. Does my baby need to have a UK passport first (we have not applied for baby's UK passport yet) prior to applying for OCI or will the UK citizenship certificate suffice?
2. Any specific advice to be followed for OCI application for babies?
3. What is the validity of the OCI card and how often do we need to renew it?
4. What would be the approximate cost?
