ILR and Living In Parents/Relatives Homes

This is a real grey area that needs addressed in my opinion. I have spoken to various immigration advisers who say different things are requires some say none at all I am sending all i can.

Do you require to show your parents/relatives/friends your living at and paying rent/contribution money? Immigration adviser stated i will need my parents mortgage statement and bank statements but they are internet bank statements i am wife have original bank statements is this acceptable?

It doesnt say anywhere on forms of these directions?

Hi

My husband is applying for ILR in Jan 2011. We live with my parents. The link you provided seems to relate to Leave to enter. Are there any rules for people applying on Set M. The home office ask for a letter to be provided from the relative you live with. I will supply this along with a copy of my parents house deeds, current council tax bill and a current utility bill. And of course all the documents to show that we are living and have been living togther through out the two years.

Do you think this will be acceptable?

Yes. The regulations relate (as per link) to both entry and ILR.

Many thanks Casa. Is there any requirement that there is a minimum amount that you need to have in your bank account each month. Both myself and my husband have a combined wage of around Â£1700 after tax each month. However with payments to savings and various outgoings, we do not keep a high balance in the account. However we are never overdrawn. Will this matter when applying for ILR?

As long as you can show you're supporting yourselves financially you won't have a problem. With spouse ILR the focus is on proof that the relationship is continuing rather than finance.

No. You might want to show that you make at least a nominal contribution towards household expenses, but it's not mandatory.

When it asks on the form Do you or your partner, or both, pay any rent or mortgage for your home?

I will write on there that we pay Â£200 per month to my parents. Will that be ok?
