Hi,
We have requested our passports back on 09th November, got them back on 24th November.
I was expecting the RC with them as we had applied for EEA2 back in August but they sent us back only our passports....

Hey ultragujar,

Congrats on getting your passports back! Could you share with us how you did it? There is another forum to specifically do this:

Did you call to ask about the request of your passport? or just about your application.

Just asked them about the status of the application, and just poke them a bit that I am closing in on 5 months.

Didn't budge, I dont think the ppl in the call centre have the slightest clue where my application has reached tbh .

FYI:

My wife's EEA FP "expired" on 22nd December so I sent three letters to UKBA requesting the RC to be issued before we would travel to Norway for Christmas. I won't know but I have a feeling this helped getting the RC relatively early.

I also attached as few documents as possible.

Have you read the timelines in this forum?

If so then you should simply be hoping it doesn't take a full 6 months.

Provisional License

Post by rubenm » Fri Dec 07, 2012 9:37 am

I Just got my provisional license, and basically for you to request it, you need to send your passport and resident card to the DVLA they will keep it for like 3 weeks and then send it back to you...

I just did the Theory test and passed it :-) I have learning lessons on Saturday although I have been driving for over 7 years abroad.

Hey 1878,

Technically, if you are an EU national, your wife should NOT need to have her RC; simply being married entitles her to entry into the EU member state in which you are exercising your treaty rights.

If you are prepared to be stuck at customs for a little bit of questioning, because the UKBA staff is not always aware of the EU legal rights rather than the UK legal rights, you and she can travel together if she has her passport, even with an expired family permit. You must also bring:

1) Actual copy (NOT photocopy) of your marriage licence;
2) Proof of living together;
3) Her COA.

This, under EU law, will entitle her to enter the UK after your trip. I would absolutely NOT recommend doing this unless you are both traveling together.

First time post. I'm a USA citizen and my wife is Estonian

EEA2 App: 23/08/12
COA: 11/10/12
RC:?

I have 2 situations

My wife and I moved 12/10/12 and I submitted a change of address online not too long afterwards. However I never received some sort of confirmation so it could be at my previous flat. The people that live at my previous flat said they have my mail. I'm going on Sunday to see if they have it.

I'm leaving 11/12/12 (EEA FP expires the same day) back to USA for Christmas with or without my RC and I'm coming back 3 weeks later. If my RC shows up while I'm gone (wife is staying here for work) Can my wife meet me at the airport with my RC? or can I show up with a copy of her passport, copy of marriage certificate, COA, NI letter, payslip, bank account statement and a letter stating my wife is exercising her rights in the UK. I see some people have done something similar.

I swear this is such a grey area in residency.
