Re: Naturalisation of non-EU child of unmarried parents living apart

Update: In search for answers the mother contacted TREOIR who said it's an issue best discussed with the helpline of ICI . What ICI said makes total sense: naturalisation takes into account descent, so the fact that the father doesn't live with the child shouldn't matter as long as he has parental r...

Re: Naturalisation of non-EU child of unmarried parents living apart

How long has the child lived in Ireland? As "classmate" is mentioned, I would assume child is more than five, so maybe it's safer to apply via Form 11? Unfortunately Form 11 doesn't apply because the child's place of birth isn't Ireland. Technically, to prove sole guardianship, it's usual...

Naturalisation of non-EU child of unmarried parents living apart

Good morning all, Here's a quick story: my son's classmate (non-EU, born after 2006) is the child of unmarried parents living apart. Thankfully both of them are on his birth cert. The mother is also non-EU. The father has received his naturalisation cert at the most recent citizenship ceremony, and ...

Is a baby born in Eire to EU citizen Irish by birth?

Hi all, I'd appreciate it if anyone could weigh in on the following situation: A friend with a Latvian passport, resident in Ireland since 2006, had a baby. They insist that the baby is an Irish citizen without a need to apply for naturalisation on their behalf. When asked how they can prove their r...

I wonder what stamp they got? Or maybe USA and Ireland have some sort of agreement?
The student got Stamp 2, her partner got 2a, their children didn't get any stamp because they are too young for an IRP card of their own.

Re: New, blank passport in citizenship application - what travel to show

The sure way would be to enter all your travel dates (starting with the date each of you arrived in Ireland) in a spreadsheet year by year. We did that to calculate the number of days we went over the 6 weeks. We did have to find every single email booking to ensure our departure/arrival dates were ...

Re: Student Visa bringing spouse and kids

A friend of a friend from USA is doing a Masters at UCD. She brought her husband and 3 kids along and all of them were registered at INIS in Dublin without a problem. The university gave them a letter outlining her program, length of study, fees she paid etc mentioning her family coming along. The I...

Absense for a minor / 6 weeks' rule for naturalisation for children

Here's a situation: A child born in Ireland spent 2 past summers at his grandparents' house in a non-EU country. The parents are attending the upcoming citizenship ceremony and wish to apply for naturalisation on behalf of their child immediately afterwards. The amount of time per year the child spe...

Posting an update in case anyone wonders the same: no, you don't need either authentication or legalisation, and it saves you quite a bit of money. Source: called INIS helpline, whoever answered the phone said so.

Re: Stamp 4 eufam visa revoked and appeal refused

Has your wife left Ireland with the only purpose, to give birth in Poland? In other words, she didn't intend to abandon you, she just wanted to avail of the maternity services available in her home country, in her native language at the most vulnerable time of her life? And following childbirth she ...

Re: Non-EEA partner study visa expired

I don’t believe she can apply for a new visa in Ireland. As far as I know the only visas that have been issued to non-EU nationals in Ireland are re-entry and emergency re-entry visas, and those have been abolished as of this May (except for stamp 6 holders, diplomats, intending residents and childr...

I know someone with a 9 days’ gap between permission stamps due to not having their passport at the time of renewal. Re: Non-EEA partner study visa expired

A logical option would have been for her to go back to Brazil and reapply for a new visa there. To quote DFA.ie: Overstaying your visa If you stay in Ireland longer than your permission to remain permits, you could be liable for prosecution and/or deportation. Change of activity If you want to under...

Your post and subject matter are confusing. Which country are you a citizen of? On what grounds did you enter Ireland? What kind of visa you had that was revoked and why? Finally, if you aim at immigrating to Australia, it’s best to find the forum concerned with immigration to Australia and ask for ...
