I read one comment earlier that dependency is no longer assumed?

Would this immigration path work for the non-EU in-laws of an EU sponsor living in England? Or it's a special case for Irish sponsor?

A photocopy of the naturalisation certificate or UK passport surely would be enough evidence if accompanied by EU passport?

Ron34 , as the close family member of an EEA national the EEA Family Permit should also work in your case. As Brexit has not happened yet therefore EU laws still apply.
