I heard that they debit the account anyway - THEN they check documents - hence why the fee would be non refundable....

I even went to the post office today to see if I left the passport there - and they have not got it either.....

I cant believe they cant tell me what docs I have received today over the telephone.....I mean comon!

What do you do if the Home office DOES lose your passport??? Surely my application cant be denied because of their negligance??

I hear you and that is what I am fearful for - however, people make mistakes trained or undertrained - hopefully in my case it is just a mistake and they do have my passport!!

I have just rung HO and they have advised that there is no way of telling what docs have been received from their systems! The advisor I spoke to says that if I sent my passport with the application and the fee has been taken he can most certainly guarantee that the passport is with them and all the...

Thanks its just so stressful because my passport has EVERYTHING in it - date of first entry and my residence stamps and most importantly my PR card - really dont know what i will do if they have misplaced or even lost my passport!!!

No they sent me an acknowledgement letter stating they have received my application and the £780 fee. However the letter states also what docs they received with the application - but I sent my passport too and they have not mentioned that they have received the passport, only the documents I have ...

Well my passport has always been stamped when ever I left the UK and entered back again, being on a South African passport - they make sure they stamp them!

UKBA website

If you have spent time in the UK while you were exempt from immigration control, you cannot include this time as part of the residential qualifying period.

OK thats fine then... The PR issue date of my sticker is Dec 2007 - surely I was ok applying now for BC? Entered the UK in May 2001- received EEA residence card 2002 and PR in 2007. Concerned that they say Residence qualifying period can not include time spent in the UK free from Immigration control...

I have just applied for my BC - UKBA signed for the documents on Jan 06.11. So does this mean they will be looking for if I was in the country in the whole year of 2006 OR just Jan 06.2006?
