Re: EU settlement - Non EU family member - CoA and decision time

Hello all. My non-EU spouse (wife) applied online for Settled status on 30 June. The automated system said she would be considered for "settled status", which makes sense as she is already settled through ILR. We submitted: ILR BRP, EU national ID of spouse (Greece), permanent residence certificate ...

"The application said my wife is considered only for "settled status" Because your wife included national insurance number. In your case Case Worker will call / email you that sorry we can only issue your pre settled status. They said this to many people on this forum . So Pre - Settled yes . Settl...

Re: Post ID return time? Eu Exit app fails to scan ILR BRP

My wife holds ILR under UK immigration rules If you would like to apply for SETTLED STATUS ( under eu settlement ) you need to be married to an EU national for 5 years on the date of the application if married in the UK The worst thing that can happen is that settled status is rejected and ILR stat...

Re: Convention Travel Documents application time experience

Hello all. A simple question: when a refugee with indefinite leave to remain applies for a new convention travel document (previous one expired) do they have to send the expired one with the application? I am asking as my wife wants to apply for naturalisation while her convention travel document ap...

Re: Post ID return time? Eu Exit app fails to scan ILR BRP

Why exactly do you want to apply for the settled scheme when she has already been granted ILR under the protection route?? They are both the same end result. She also won't get settled status, she will get pre-settled status as she has not been married to you for 5 years. In all of your numerous to...

Re: CAHNGE MY NAME BEFORE NATIONALITY POSSIBLE

Would you have to (also) change your ILR BRP before being able to naturalise as British citizen, or could you submit the ILR BRP in the original (old) name along with a recent deed poll as part of form AN naturlisation application?

Dependants in naturalisation application

Do you have any dependants not applying with you at this time? Yes / No Per the dictionary: "a person who relies on another, especially a family member, for financial support." Technically by definition all children in your care are dependants. Do British citizen children count as dependants for th...

Post ID return time? Eu Exit app fails to scan ILR BRP

The EU Exit app failed to scan my wife's ILR BRP obtained in a non-EU settlement route... (to swap this with settled EU status). The app claims the non-EU spouse ILR BRP (issued 2019) is a "wrong" document. From our forum members experience, how long does it take for the return of ID documents in th...

Re: SET (Protection) Route applications

1. The 10 year limit applies to the BRP card. It expires and you have to renew it. Your entitlement to indefinite leave does not expire/lapse. After 10 years you just need a new BRP card. 2. Not sure. Many members mention that it indicates the route of settlement (i.e. refugee). This is unfortunate,...

Child born abroad to two parents - British citizens by descent

If a child is born (after 1 July 2006) outside the UK by two British citizen parents and both parents are British citizens by descent (i.e. both are born abroad to British parents) and the parents do not hold another nationality (they are only British citizens), will that child be stateless at birth...
