Re: Irish FBR supporting documents

Didn’t the 1935 act require irish born father. Yes. However, in this case we did not get any information regarding the grandfather, so it was at least possible. The father did not have to be the one who registered the birth - the mother could. There merely had to be an Irish born father prior to 19...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I can shed some light on this for you. Whenever you have posted anything that I find unacceptable, I have immediately posted a forthright reply and, just as quickly, the mods have deleted both of our posts - probably before you've even had a chance to see my reply. There's no need to suspect the mo...

Re: Irish FBR supporting documents

Thank you so much!!!! This makes total sense now as to why we cannot find a FBR for my mother. Thank you!! I thought you were certain that your mother had been registered through FBR by your grandmother? As Rbs3 correctly says under the current legislative framework there is no necessity for your m...

Re: Irish FBR supporting documents

Hi all, I'm finding myself in a tricky position regarding my Irish Foreign Birth Registration and I can't seem to find relevant information anywhere. I am applying through my grandmother who was born in the Republic of Ireland, she did the FBR process for my mother when she was young but my mother ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Last call to DFA was not promising, mid-June told should be 'final approval' by end of the month. Yesterday, told will be the full 12 months. No consistency and appears DFA have no accurate timescale to work from. Disappointing considering when I applied I was told 6 months, this changed to up to 9...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Sulla: how long before it showed in the tracker? Mine appeared in the tracking system about 2 hours after I handed it over. By the time I got to the train station and thought to check, it was in there. However, I would not be shocked it it takes longer in your case. The embassy was very quiet on al...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Haven’t checked in for sometime but just a quick update. Today, I went to the Boston consulate to hand deliver my passport application. My documents were looked over, copied and my original supporting documents including my FBR certificate were given back to me. Was also told that the passport trac...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I know it's my fault for not registering with immigration and taking forever to do the FBR, I know I did this to myself. I never got any study visas or anything because I assumed the FBR would pull through faster than what happened (me faster and office faster), and thought 'why would I get a visa ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

One thing, on the guidance notes and on the website it says you only need to send two proofs of address but I have seen people post about needing three (annoyingly after I sent the package). Does anyone have a link to where it says you need three proofs of address. Jamie For applicants from the UK,...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I see people are starting to get progress on applications from August 2018. Just wish I would also hear something on my application which was acknowledged on 15 May 2018!! In response to questions about people putting incorrect ages on marriage certificates this was the same for my grandmother and ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Mine was signed for at the London embassy on 10th August Hi Hol. Yes, you were on the original list. In theory, you should be the next to hear positive news. Of course, that is assuming they proceed on the basis of date order received - which they don't always seem to do. August 2018 applicants and...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Did anyone who submitted their application in a foreign embassy (not London) receive an email notification when their application arrived in Dublin? The phone agent I spoke to claimed I should, but I noticed from other timelines in this thread, that maybe that isn't the case. Not that I am aware of...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi all. First time poster. Have been reading other people's comments on the forum and their experiences. I sent my application in August 2018 to the London embassy. I had a confirmation email in Jan 2019 to say it had been received. I contacted the FBR team in Feb 2019 via the web chat and the guy ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Laurie9434 - I took it to mean 12 months total. 12 months total is quite bad enough. It represents the time the DFA state on their website can pertain to complex applications. Since there is no indication that you have a complex application type, the fact that up to 12 months has been indicated to ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I see a lot of August 2018 applications are finalising at the moment, which is good news for those who have waited for a 10 month turnaround. However, I was wondering whether any later applications have been finalised? (i.e. those from September, October, November, December 2018). Has anyone here a...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Is it a thought that they do try to keep the number of participants at a certain number in order not to have too large of groups when the ceremony happens? Still glad to be here with you all to keep thoughts and progress updated as best as we are all able. There is no ceremony involved in the FBR p...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Gave FBR a call to check status this AM. On hold for about 8 minutes. Was told when application was received (8/14/18). He said it has not been processed and estimated could take 12 months. Also asked about changing address as we have sold our house in preparation for a move to Europe. Glad we made...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

The initial document application is built on a standard Microsoft .NET framework - I can see by eye but open in your favourite browser and check the properties of the page, think you’ll find that is correct. 3.x my guess. It may well be a Sharepoint intranet site with extranet qualities built in. A...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Glad to see that a more accurate 'applications will take 6 to 12 months' has been edited on the DFA's FBR website page. Although 6-12 months remains a wildly wide ranging estimate, we all know it is closer to 9-12 months currently. Yes I saw that 6-9 months is now the standard time. I think ...

They are currently working on applications from October 2018. The certificates are then printed in Dublin and he cannot give a timel...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Michael I had a similar number of certificates, plus divorce decrees for my father and grandmother - which were the most problematic to source as they had to be obtained from the court rather than records office. As for all the others, they could be ordered online from the records office in Scotland...
