Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

My sister got her approval today and she applied on the last week of july 2019 :D I applied a week or two before her and have been getting the same email response "application continues to be processed.." So i emailed this morning after my sisters news to ask has my application been approved and go...

Re: Citizenship, letter from deparment of justice, what is mean?

Yes, it truly would be nice if they could be more transparent. I reckon with the changes in the new application requirements (submitting doctors letter, police clearance cert, etc), it would streamline everything a whole lot more, making it more straightforward. I’ve copied/pasted my timeline from t...

Re: Citizenship, letter from deparment of justice, what is mean?

Actually no- she said that I won’t make it to the one in March but should (but cant confirm) make it to the one in July. Looks like no more will be sent to the minister for approval or those that will be approved are with the minister. Makes sense- election in a few days and it’ll take time for them...

Re: Citizenship, letter from deparment of justice, what is mean?

Generic. Second stage, etc doesn’t really matter as many receive their approvals without the second stage letter. I’m got the same letter but was told on the phone today that they have everything they need, that my file is complete but was not submitted to the minister yet. What is important now is ...

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

I applied in June 2019 and was told on the phone that I should make it to the ‘March ceremony’ in Dec 2019 when I called as all they’re apparently waiting on is for the Garda vetting. Good character, no convictions, taxes always in and never claimed benefits. Been told that it is still being process...

Re: Citizenship Helpdesk Team 3

Thank you for sharing! Congrats!!! Absolutely delighted for you! Upon reading this, an application could be anywhere after the first stage- ie, gathering information for the application to be submitted to the minister. I think its pretty smart of them as someone would read it and not contact them th...

Re: What address to post docs to

PSC - public services card. Mine expired a few days ago. I received the new card and just wanted to send it to them as it as something we had to submit when I applied. Just being proactive. I know about the whole PSC saga and note that it isn’t required now. Went through the documents required now a...

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

Any approvals today? Not to my knowledge. I’m still waiting on mine, hoping it would come back soon. Was told on the phone in early Dec ‘19 that I should make it to the ceremony in March (she mentioned they were trying to clear the massive backlog, mentioning it would be in March even before the ‘S...

Re: Mismatch stamps on my passport with my GNIB

Write to the GNIB office in Dublin requesting for your period of reckonable residence. You’ll get it in a week or two at the most and you can use those dates for the residency calculator. I tried this but did not work. This the reply I got: "I am to advise that the information sought by you is for ...

Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

If they meant 10 business days, they’d clearly state that.

If you’re in Ireland, could you not submit the things they want from another county?

Guessing you’re probably away from Ireland if you asked. :)

Re: Applying for Irish Citizinship 2020

It is 6 weeks max in last year but with minister discretion. You can probably try to apply, explaining the need to travel. If it not work it will be refused prior to 2nd stage(2-7 months), try not to travel in meantime and apply 2nd time. I wonder if RJ’s application was refused prior to the second...

No worries. Apologies for the multiple posts again! I requested a letter from the GNIB office (Addressed to the Garda Superintendent) with my period of reckonable residence despite the fact that there weren’t any errors. All I had to do was to input this into the naturalisation calculator - it shoul...

Re: Mismatch stamps on my passport with my GNIB

You might have discrepancies but at the end of the day, its the reckonable residence that is stated in the letter which should pretty much the period (not necessarily exact dates) of your stamps - stamps as you said are stamped at different times. Send them that and a letter if you want to say that ...

Yes, submit what the letter from the GNIB with your period of reckonable residence states.
