Re: Subject Access Request

Hello all, I have applied for a subject access request for both I and my wife in November 2015. The primary aim was to know the information HO held about us before we submit our naturalisation application in March 2016. Payment was made by cheque and this was cleared in December 2015; acknowledgeme...

Re: Schengen business visa

Interesting that they said it needs to be addressed to yourself. Mine were all addressed to 'The Visa Officer', and the Embassy address in London was given in the letters, as I was applying in London (even though the application was being submitted through a intermediary such as TLS contact/VFS). Yo...

Re: Naturalization Application Refused due to illegal work

Based on the latest right to work guidance, what appears to be the case is that unless you were studying throughout that period where you were working part time, (I.e. That would be the primary condition attached to any student visa) as a student, then you would have been in breach of its terms & co...

(march 2008 before i voluntary depart). HO never mentioned in my letters to leave the country or my work rights has cancelled...

A similar discussion in relation to long validity visit visas that you may find useful. Key factors to show are as many strong ties to their home country and frequent travel history to the UK. http://www.immigrationboards.com/general-uk-immigration-forum/long-term-visitor-visa-for-parents-t213108-20...

It's normally deducted around the same time as the AN fee is taken. Mine was deducted about a week after the AN fee.

Re: Applying Naturalization and Passport at same time

1. When do they(NCS) apply for the passport? 2. Roughly how many days does it take for us to get the passport after the oath ceremony? I saw that it is roughly taking 20 days after the ceremony? Am I correct? 3. Do we still have a passport interview? 4. Also I saw that many people rang up the passp...

There is no problem for a British citizen but will be a problem for non-British in the future. As pension is paid at the moment to EU citizen, because the UK is part of EU umbrella . Is that statement correct? Or have I misunderstood what you meant to say? I haven't done much research or reading ar...

What is your opinion on the above and should I go ahead with my application or wait until 2018 to meet the 10 year requirement? Purely based on what you have shared here I'd suggest waiting until you meet the Good character requirement, count 10 years from whenever your last breach in good characte...

Re: Long term visitor visa for parents

I know cases where a long term visa was issued in similar cases.. hence I think staying 4/5 months is no issue ..... I hope! In my mind a visit would constitute a period of something up to or less than a month. That said I do know extended family friends, who have travelled to the UK to visit famil...

Re: Breach of Immigration Law and Naturalisation

Goes against the good character of an applicant. This aspect is likely not confined to only the last '10 years' but will be fully explored by HO particularly given that they are fully aware that he worked full time on a student visa, a clear breach and disregard for the immigration rules. I suppose...

Other confusion is, Will the same 10 yrs rule apply on us (9 dependents) who did not breach visa condition but had to leave UK due to husband? No, it won't. Each person applying has to meet the requirements for citizenship. If you have 5 years residence and 1 year ILR, you can apply. It appears tha...

You'll probably find it useful to read the HO Visitor Visa Guidance. See Page 25 for how they decide the length of the visa.

Re: Long term visitor visa for parents

In that case, based on the associated cost mentioned it appears that continuing to do the same would be more cost effective than applying for a long validity visit visa. Fees A Standard Visitor visa costs £87. The fee for a long-term visit visa depends on its length: 2 years - £330 5 years - £600 10...

Re: Long term visitor visa for parents

A follow-up question... For each of the visits you've listed, did they make 4 separate visit visa applications and granted 4 visa's valid for 6 months each? I suspect that the cost effectiveness of the visa would really depend on the frequency of visits during the validity period. If just visiting o...
