Re: Applying for wife's OCI

Do I have to carry my passport or my wife's passport to enter high commission ?
On appointment letter , it says " Entry into HCI is regulated by presenting valid passport and OCI application along with application letter "

Following to OCI guide notes. I will advise you to take two individual PO £175 each and mention detail back of PO as they have requested. if total number of applications are two then £350( 2 PO of £175 each) hope this will clear your confusion :-) If you live in London then advise to submit in person.

Deed poll template

Dear Moderator,

I want to add Deed Poll template as sticky for users to use when they have done name change.

It will be useful for their passport application and OCI application.
Please advise to whom I should send so we can upload in forum

It is entirely up to you.

I will still advise you not to fill it now, if you are submitting passport personally in VFS, Ask them a question when you submit her application.

if they say so mention it otherwise leave it blank.
They are not fussy.

When I applied for my wife's ILR, NCS Hammersmith accepted laminated marriage certificate. They made photocopy of document and sent it to HO . Her application was approved with that copy.

No issue so far.
Dont worry, you will be OK.

If she is taking your name is then she can apply British passport asking for your surname in it. She can provide marriage certificate or deed poll for British passport application. For OCI, Please take your original marriage certificate when you go for application submission and they will accept it....

Regarding affidavit,
I recently submitted mine and my son's OCI application. I did not submit an affidavit declaring my son never had other nationality/passport before.
Just his passport+full birth certificate+photo was needed

HCI accepted both applications without any issues

Hi,
If it says delivered in London then you should visit high commission with

a) Print out of on-line status report
b) British, or Foreign Passport for all applicants

Documents may be submitted at the token counter on a working day between 0830 to 1200 hrs only:
