Tier 1: Dependent Visa Extension

Post by ASIF82 » Sat Dec 09, 2017 12:05 pm

Dear All, I would appreciate your help in following matter,

I am now a British Citizen (Tier 1 - G 5 years + ILR route).

My wife is on Tier 1 General Dependent and her visa is expiring in next couple of months.

1) Am I right to assume she will still need to apply on Tier 1 General Dependent route?
2) How much salary I should be earning to support as an evidence for HMRC? ( i have got a 2 year kid- British Citizen) and how many months I need show.
3) How much maintenance funds are required?
4) Do they require cohabitation proof?

Kind Regards

1. Yes.

2. There is no 'minimum salary' requirement.

3. You have to show evidence of maintenance funds of £630 for 90 days.

4. Yes, for the last 2 years.

She also has to pay the £600 immigration health surcharge in addition to the visa application fee.

No, it is only required for ILR and citizenship.

Post by ASIF82 » Thu Dec 20, 2018 9:14 am

Hello, I am British passport holder (Tier 1 General+ILR 5 year route)
My wife has a visa extension next month and I would need some help from respected forum members.
Do I have to fill the following form, (She is here in uk for 4 years 6 months and needs an extension to get to ILR).

https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... nt-partner

If this is not the right form, can you please direct me to one.

Yes it is the correct form.

Have you been maintaining funds of £630 for 90 days??

When exactly does her visa expire as you posted a year ago that it was 'expiring in the next couple of months'??

Hi CR001, very good spot. Yes you are right i did posted a year ago. I am amazed by your memory :)

It was an oversight on my behalf as I thought visa was expiring but it was not hence the question at the time.

Now, the visa expiry date is 30/01/2019.

Yes I am maintaining funds for 90 days and more than 690.

Thanks for all help I got from these forums during all these years (starting 2006)

Kindest Regards.

hi, i am completing form for my wife (tier 1 dependant) andI am UK citizen now.
On IHS website I entered that I am uk citized and visa expiry was put as passport expiry date but I realized that IHS cost is coming us 1700. I think it should be lower than that. Can you please help

Also, I can see there are now two ways of applying one is a new one and other one is the old one. You complete the form manually and submit. I want to apply using new method are they are any disadvantages to that as compared to old one.

Kind Regards

She needs to apply alone to get the correct IHS and not put your details OR put an expiry date of 3 years ahead.

Apply new service, it seems to be quicker than postal.

THanks CR001 I appreciate you help, this has now been done. I have submitted VISA fees as well using new service

I have one last query I cannot find appointments closer to me. The nearest is croydon and I see all appointments cost atleast 100 and at most 260£ (Premium Lounge Service Point). Is that normal fees?
If I cannot find an appointment can I then apply using old way i..e send papers to HO.
