Dear Fellows,

I received my UK Visa stamped on Monday 3rd of December :) . The date on visa is 27/11 (sorry for being late in sending this post..:) ).

Following are the time lines:

Applied on: 22/11.
Call to employer for verification: 26/11
Visa stamped: 27/11.
Collection of documents and passport: 3/12.

BTW: I got HSMP approval in second attempt.

Following is the list of documentation I supplied with my Visa application:

1. Whole document package i sent to Home Office UK as part of HSMP application. PLUS one salary slip for the month of OCT-07.
2. HSMP Approval Letter.
3. Bank Statements of two accounts for last 13 months (OCT-06 to Date) {Reason why i send second bank statement: i have savings in other account for some time}
4. Original Passport
5. Filled VAF-2 form
6. Work Experience Letter
7. TB Screening Letter (Its in process currently)
8. Printouts of Job searches and emails exchanged with recruiters.
9. Cover Letter
10. Matriculation and F.Sc Certificates
11. Copy of NIC and Passport
12. Hotel Reservation through www.booking.com

Thank you all for your support and guidance. Special thanks to JD for his support and guidance and getting me through EC.... :)

Hello Gallian,

The reason I am applying through a consultant is that I am very busy at work and i would like to move to england immediately after new year. So some help is welcome from my the laywer so that I dont miss anything.
Gallian100 wrote:Hello Saby,
In which city are you in and is there any specific reason to apply through a consultant?

saby wrote:Hello all,

I'll be applying for EC as soon as I get my TB screening report. Test is on 13th December. Any idea when do they give the report?

Anyways, here are the documents I am applying with:

1: All documents sent with HSMP application
2: HSMP Approval letter
3: TB Test report
4: Bank statement (4-5 lacs)
5: An attested invitation letter from my brother who lives in uk saying that I will live with him
6: My brother's visa copy, passport copy, work permit copy and accomodation proof
7: My professional certificates (cissp, security+, ccna etc)
8: some printouts of job searches/emails exchange with recruiters

Anything else you people think I should definately submit?

Plus I am submitting salary slips from three different employers for the past year. I fear the verification failure from the oldest one of the lot (from nov-march) because their management is changed and CEO isnt always available. Few work colleagues are still there and as I am applying through a consultant, he suggested that I should try visit that office daily (after submitting application) to ensure verification is done correctly and promptly.

I was also told that BHC doesnt always contact all employers in case there are more than one. I am hoping thats the case with me.

Post by waqasshahid » Fri Dec 07, 2007 10:02 am

Hi Senior members,

Please guide what should i do? also is this is normal behavior of HO about the timeline or my case is under verfication.

Looking forward to your replies

Hello Waqas,

why dont you call them again and confirm your application status. if they are saying it is with case worker then i think it went for verification. Senior memebrs can also suggest you better i think.
i just called HO now and they informed me that my case is with payment section. it is taking long as i send DD and it normally take 5 working Days.

Best of Luck.

Kash

EC Applications

Post by immaad » Fri Dec 07, 2007 10:07 pm

Hi,

It would be more beneficial if we all mention how much amount was there in the back account when we applied for EC.

Dear siqbal

Your HC was stamped on 27 Nov.2007 and your intention to move in Feb/March 2008 would be disadvantageous for ILR requiring two extensions (FLR). Make your first entry within 28 days of 27 Nov.2007.You can come back even on the next flight and travel again in Feb/March.

Dear HSMP_Appeallant2007

Please share your timeline

When you got your EC refused
When you appealed
Did you appeal by your own or through consultant
Do you send ur appeal to to BHC in Pakistan or direct to the tribuna
After how long you heard from either the BHC or the AIT,

Your answers to the above queries will help me a lot

Regards

post-dated EC stamp

Post by Whatever » Tue Dec 11, 2007 4:58 am

Hi All,

A post-dated visa helps one prepare better & look for a job before entering the UK but most of people have not been issued a post-dated EC stamp despite their request. It makes me wonder if there is any law/criteria/requirment defining post-dated visa or it is at the complete discretion of the ECO. Because there are some i have seen on other forums who have got a post-dated EC upon request.

Is there anyone on this thread who has applied (or planning to) for a HSMP post-dated EC stamp & has got it?

I am going to be applying from Karachi soon.

regards,

2nd FLR

Post by Whatever » Tue Dec 11, 2007 5:51 am

Hi Again,

Thought of sharing my finding with you all (link below). Its something to think about. It is about people who had to apply for a second FLR after 4 years because the requirements for ILR changed from 4 to 5 yrs. Many of them dont qualify under the new 75 point HSMP system especially in the salary & age section. Its hard to imagine how they would plan to leave & go back to their countries after spending 4 years in the UK. It is quite ridiculous.

hxxp://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=11305

Although this problem does not apply to us at the moment but we have all signed an undertaking (HSMP form) that we accept & understand that the rules/criteria can change any time.

Lets say after we get the 1st FLR & spend 5 years in the UK; an MP has a mood swing & thinks he can bag more votes by claiming to revamp the migration system & changes the ILR requirement from 5 to 6 years for a safer, economically vibrant britian (or something like that). At that time, we woud have to apply for a 2nd FLR for 1 more year provided we qualify under the new rules.

It seems to be a risk & not a very calculated one at that. Under the circumstances, the only thing that can probably reduce this risk is our skills, education & ability to perform in the UK environment.

All the best!
