Cancel Child Dependent Visa

Post by tksnota1 » Sun Feb 16, 2025 9:52 am

Hi,

I had 2 kids that I successfully brought to the UK.

However after more than a year my relationship to one of them was getting worst causing me mental stress plus I’m afraid we might harm each other and the continuous fights produced fear to his younger siblings born in the UK

I don’t know if someone had gone through this exercise if so I need advise to let him go in order to save my family.

Thanks…tksnota….

Is this related to the over 18 year old child?

Did they get Indefinite Leave to Enter last year as child of a british parent? Or a time limited child visa for 2.5 years?

Note that you don't have the authority to cancel an immigrarion status. Only UKVI has that authority.

Threatening to deprive somebody of their immigration status by action/inaction may be considered immigration abuse and also psychological and/or emotional abuse.

Most likely ILE, but I am not certain. The OP will have to confirm.

Hi,

My issue is the 19 year old and he has ILE for 2.5 years. He just arrived last Feb 2024

I’m worried because he is getting aggressive as time goes by.

I requested for him to do therapy to fix any mental issue which I believe he has but he refused. Unfortunately this field isn’t part of any visa application

I just want the rest of his siblings to be safe.

Thanks…

This doesn't make sense. ILE is indefinite, same as ILR. What exactly did the approval say and what does his BRP or visa vignette say?

Maybe try to understand the 'why' here? Are you trying to control him (he is an adult after all) or has he got mixed up with the wrong crowd etc?

He is an adult, he has to make his own decisions. You cannot force him to do anything.

If he has Indefinite Leave to Enter, that is permanent residence.

If he has ILE, it is "indefinite leave to enter" and is not limited to 2.5 years. He is settled in the UK and not dependent on you for his immigration status.

On the other hand, he may be on a child dependent visa for 2.5 years, which would need renewal before leading to ILR in five years time.

Which one is it? You may want to check the paperwork/BRP/emails to confirm the precise nature of your son's visa status.

Hi

Apologies. I checked the Visa Leave to Enter for 2.5 years as child dependent visa.

Being 19 Can I get them out of the house even if he is under dependent visa because it will fix the problem while not canceling the visa?
