Going to court as victim

Post by Botman » Sat Jan 18, 2020 5:00 pm

Hi. Im not sure if this is the correct forum to post. Im on tier 2 general work visa. Can we go to court if we are a victim of crime or can it affect ILR? I have been victim of harrasment against a known person and police asked “would you be willing to go to court against him if we bring him in for questioning?” I said no. Officer said ok i would close the crime report then and go talk to him in person.

Is there a link for our rights as immigrants on visas and what pitfalls do we need to be careful of in such situations?

1. Yes.

2. No.

Only a person convicted, which is not what you describe as the circumstance, will be affected if they are a visa holder.
