Hello,
Greetings.
Apologize if these questions are dumb and have been answered. But I keep hearing new things about immigration process everyday. So, I thought I will ask it anyway.
I am currently on a Tier 2 General Visa with company X since Aug 2016. It expires in Aug 2021.
I got a job from company Y which will sponsor my new CoS which means that I fall under the ''transfer employer'' category. Company Y tells me that I can apply for Tier 2 General visa (now called skilled worker) 1 year extension. During that 1 year I have to apply for ILR. Does this sound right ?
I read that the RLMT is not used anymore. Does this mean the visa processing can be started immediately ?
During the visa application process do I need to submit my passport for processing ?
If the answer to the above question is No, can I travel outside UK during the visa processing ?
Should I resign from company X once the visa is approved or only when the BRP arrives ?
Related to the question above is another question. Since they already have my fingerprints do I need to go through fingerprinting process again ?
Any guidance/recent experience on how long does the visa transfer processing take ?
Can I expedite the process by paying an extra fee ?
Your answers will help me a lot. Thank you in advance.
Regards
Pranam
