Another query pls :

Letter of consent document:
The downloaded letter does not have space to mention address but the required document are asking for it..
Any way to add the address or just write it against the sign ?
Thanks

https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... onsent.pdf

The letter must:
give their full names and addresses
say that they agree to let you apply for a British citizenship
If you have more than one parent or legal guardian, they must both sign the letter and confirm that they agree
to what it says. If you only have one parent or legal guardian they must explain why the other parent is unable
to consent e.g. whereabouts unknown, no contact since MM/YY

They have your address on the application, never been reported as an issue.
But if you wish write in your address, shouldn't make a difference.

Whose passport is this?

Passport as such is taken to the appointment for ID purposes, and should be uploaded beforehand if that is required by the application.

Thanks a lot for all the responses. Really appreciate. I have submitted all the documents and now appointment is at croydon centre.

A bit worried about the recent google reviews of that centre:

1. Asking money even in free appointment for scanning? Isnt scanning allowed at the centre in self service mode ?
2. Denial of service if money is not paid... why would they deny service?

details from a review just today:

I have uploaded all my documents online before my appointment, so I just booked a self service which is free. But when I got there they asked to scan my documents again, even I told them I have uploaded already, they said still need scan again, and I need paid 50 pounds for this. Otherwise they wouldn't continue my service. Scan my documents is part of their job, it's free of charge. So they upgraded me to assisted service which is help people to uploaded documents which I don't need, as I have done already. But they keep saying everyone has to do the same, and has to pay as well, so I have no choice, paid 50 pounds then can continue for the service. So I made a complaint to their customer service, they said they haven't done anything wrong, I couldn't believe. I just need a free service to scan my documents and gave finger print, which all free. But they made me to pay 50 pounds for the service I never need. This is a scam, they didn't care do you need the service or not, as long as you paid, then you can continue to be served.

We are not aware of what happens at these centres in detail, especially after the recent transition to TLS contact. Document your experience and report back, here and/or on Google reviews.

Sure, we recently visited Gee centre london for ILR and it was really good. ... no complaints..
but it was via company so the solicitors have uploaded the documents and it was self service appointment..

Just not sure about the croydon one ... and the review is a bit scary as this is for the kids...

if anyone here done croydon centre pls let me know ?

UKVI will not send an email. We don't know how long TCScontact takes to send an email. However, unless you don't get an email that there is an issue with your application, regardless of receiving a confirmation email or not.

I also mentioned that in my reply. we don't know how long they take to send the email, but if there is an issue with your application you would be contacted.

No, there is no way to find out the status. It can take up to 6 months, sometimes quicker, sometimes longer.

The registration certificate comes by post - you may or may not also get an email (before or after certificate).

got the certificate today.. no email at all before this..

have few more questions pls :
1. Can we apply for british passport ? If yes , we have to surrender indian passport and apply for oci while we are on ILR .
2. Can we use indian passport without applying for british passport ? or the british registration means they are citizen and passport is just the formality ..

The thought process as we want to club all the Indian passport surrender and oci together as family rather than travelling twice for that within 9 months

thanks

Can't comment on surrendering Indian nationality but your indian citizenship shouldn't be affected by your son's British nationality. Not sure what you mean here
2. Can we use indian passport without applying for british passport ? or the british registration means they are citizen and passport is just the formality .. He is British now. He doesn't have a valid immigration status. Without a British passport he can't return to the UK. Your son must apply for a British passport.

The thought process as we want to club all the Indian passport surrender and oci together as family rather than travelling twice for that within 9 months You can wait for the whole family to get British passports and then do that all at once

thanks

Thanks, it is the other side of things like surrendering indian passport and complication at evisa/oci for india..
But have applied for the passport now.. as no point in waiting and the travel restriction is not good.

thanks
