An ambiguous question in the ILR application

Hi there,

I am filling an ILR application for myself and my family. While filling the application it asks:
Do you or anyone else who is part of this application receive any public funds?

I said: No

Then it asks me to check:
I will provide a declaration signed by me to confirm my consent for the Home Office to request verification checks

I selected the check box

Then it asks:
Is the account with a bank or utility company for which you have supplied information and supporting documentation held jointly by you and other people?

And it also asks:
Does the account with the bank or utility company for which you have supplied information and supporting documentation relate to another person who is to provide you financial support?

But I have not yet provided any account or utility company and I do not know what it is asking about here?

The questions are not ambiguous. They are also pointers to the sort of documents expected of you and are posed in such a way as your in-time responses when the CW is dealing with your application.
If providing financial details like account statements, utility bills etc then the questions need responding to.

Many thanks for your reply.
Do you mean that later in the application, I have to provide a bank statement or a utility bill?
I do not think that I am going to provide a utility bill but I may be in need to provide a bank statement to prove that I have a salary that matches my payslip.
What do you mean by CW?

CW = Case Worker

If you spouse is applying with you, you are required to provide 2 years evidence of cohabitation from 3 to 6 difference sources showing joint names or addressed individually. This requirement is separate to the requirement to provide your payslip and bank statement for the last one month to prove you meet the salary level for your SOC

How many documents do I need to provide (from these 3 to 6 difference sources) to prove cohabitation? 1 document for every month in the previous 2 years or 4 documents per year (1 for every 3 months)?

My wife is dependent on me and the only bill in her name is electricity bill. Other bills are in my name and they are all electronic. We have bank statement as well. I can provide her driving license as the 3rd source. Will that be sufficient?

6 if addressed to you both
6 each if addressed individually.
They should cover the last 2years with interval of 3-4months between them.
When it comes down to it any correspondence reflecting the name and address can be used.

ILR application date

Posted: Thu Dec 16, 2021 1:44 pm
by mksoi
Hi there,

I am about to submit my ILR application today. I will be completing the entire 5 years on 25th of Jan 2022. So I can apply on 29th of December as the earliest. I think there will be no appointment on that date due to Christmas holiday. I think the first one I can get will be in Jan/2022. Is that correct?

Now my main question is, what is considered as my application date? is it today when I submit? or when I visit the 3rd party partner to provide my documents?

Is the in-person option still available?

Many thanks

Hi again,

My account where I receive my salary is not a joint account.
However, the account that I use to proof cohabitation is a shared account.

Now, when I answer this question:
Is the account with a bank or utility company for which you have supplied information and supporting documentation held jointly by you and other people?

Shall I say Yes if it is a joint account with my wife who is an applicant in this ILR application as well?
Shall I sign Part I and she sign Part 2, or shall I sign Part I and II and she sign Part I and II as well?

Many thanks

Could you please answer this question:

Many thanks for your response. The "in-person" option is when I collect my ILR on the same date (No waiting).

Now for the Payslip & Bank Statement; I am going to provide December Payslip and a Bank statement that starts from 23/11/2021 to 23/12/2021. It shows two salaries in my account {one on 25th of November and the other one is on 22nd of Dec (paid a little bit earlier due to Christmas holiday)} Is that OK? Having in mind that I will submit my application on 30th of December.

There is no longer such a service and hasn't been since November 2018.

You apply online and choose either super priority or standard service, whichever is available. You then book a biomtric enrollment appointment at UKCVAS. Super priority is a 24 hour UKVI decision service calculated from after your biometric appointment. It is also not a guaranteed service. Also note UKCVAS is a third part agent.

The 2 payments/salaries reflecting won't be a problem.

Many thanks for you replies and clarifications.

Last point just to assure that I have understood it correctly.

I have entered the UK on 25th of Jan 2017. So this means that the first date on which I can submit my ILR online application is on 29th of December 2021. Is that correct?

That's correct, 28 days before completing 5years from initial entry to UK on spouse visa.

Thank you for your reply.

This is the same for Tier2 visa right? I mean not only for the spouse visa as we are applying all together (myself, my wife, and my kid). I am on a Tier2 visa (Skilled Worker). My wife and kid is on a Tier 2 dependent visa.

My other kid was born here in UK (Northern Ireland). He is currently on a Tier 2 dependent visa (due to expire on 14/02/2022), for him I am not applying for ILR with us right now. Instead, I will apply for UK nationality after we get the ILR.

Is everything planned correctly?
