Reapplication of UK spouse visa

Post by Faireena » Thu Jul 04, 2019 11:43 am

Hello everyone,
I will be really grateful if someone can clear my doubts regarding UK Settlement visa ( partner)
My husband is a British citizen and I am an Indian Citizen. I applied for a settlement visa on 12 th January 2019 which was refused on the basis of financial requirements.
Now I am reapplying with new financial documents after 6 months under salaried employment category. ( this time all the requirements are met)
These are some doubts regarding my new application
1 ) In my last VAF4A form I had mentioned the date of start of relationship sometime in January 2018 ( this was when we confessed our feelings for each other) . I exactly don’t remember the date I had written in my last VAF 4 A form . I guess it was 12 th of January . If at all the date is not the same as mentioned in the last VAF 4 A form , will there be an issue?? I don’t have any copy of the last VAF 4 A form and neither my husband remembers the exact date .
2 ) our last visa application had notarised documents ( notarised in November 2018) . These are my birth certificate English translation, statements from our friends and pastor that our relationship is genuine , my husband’s passport copy etc . Do we need to have fresh notarised copies ?
3 ) last time my husband was drawing his salary as a director and sole shareholder of a pvt limited company . His account gave us insufficient payslips and some of them were not matching the bank statements. However he paid the tax already. Now he is on a salaried employment as mentioned in the last application that he was soon going to start working in a salaried employment of 47 K per Annum . This is the 6 th month of his employment and i am applying next month for spouse visa with new payslips ( of 6 months ) that are matching his bank statement. Do we need to mention what had gone wrong in the last visa application ?

1. You will definitely have to write the same dates as you had written last time.

2. Yes you can use them again but statements from friends & pastor will be worthless to attach.

3. Simply apply again on salaried employment basis. You only need to mention about your previous refusal wherever it has been asked on the form.

Some very important and useful advice.

1. ALWAYS keep copies of every form you complete and send to HO. They cross check all the information you have provided in previous applications for discrepancies.

2. Keep everything until the day you are British and receive your British passport. You just never know when you will need to refer back to something.

3. Keep copies of every visa you ever get for the UK. Years from now when applying for citizenship, you will be asked about this.

4. Never assume anything with HO. Always been 300% prepared and always follow the rules and requirements exactly. Don't submit or say things because you think it is what HO wants to see or hear.

I would suggest you try to find if you kept a copy of the last application form.

Everyone keeps the copy. Try to trace/remember it because if you put the different key dates then caseworker may not like it.

It’s a date between 10 to 13 January 2018 . I think it’s 12 th ( eighty percent sure ) . Can I not mention in the form somewhere that I don’t remember the exact date now since it’s been a long time
Also it’s not our engagement day or our wedding day , it was just a normal day when we confessed our feelings .

No one can predict your guess and can advise you as what to put. I am sure until January the procedure wasn't changed and documents were supposed to sent to sheffield who later return them back to sponsor. Ask your sponsor he should have that form.

The question is when did your relationship begin
Now, we confessed our feeling in January between 10-13 January 2018
We got engaged on 11 th April 2018
And married on 26 th September 2018
I remember I mentioned a date in January as start of our relationship in last application . However our relationship as a married couple started after 26 th September . Can I just chuck everything and write 26 th September . Last application mentions our engagement and marriage dates. Also in our relationship statements no date of confession was mentioned only the period during our first trip together was mentioned as the time around which we confessed .
There is a page in the end where they ask for any additional info . Can I not just mention that we confessed our love for each other around 12th January 2018
Our relationship as fiancé started from 11 April and as a married couple started from 26 th September.
This way they would know that we are not sure what exactly is the start of relationship as it has evolved over the time
