Post by ChrisAraujo » Thu Mar 13, 2014 9:05 pm

Dears,

Could you help me? I need to advices and suggestion about visa types.
I have an boyfriend who is British and we are together for two and half years.
The thing is, I don't have European passport and we want be together next year. Which kind of visa may i apply?
We wanted first be together to get married after a time.

Which visa you guys suggest/advice for?
I heard about partner visa but you must be in the same place as your partner for two years, has any exception this type of case?

Thanks

You can apply for a fiance visa. You won't be allowed to work and have to get married within 6 months and then switch to FLR(M) which a spouse visa. There are financial and standard requirements that have to be met for both of these.

You can apply for an Unmarried Partner Visa but only if you have LIVED together for at least 2 years in a relationship akin to marriage and have the documentary proof of this.

You could also apply for any of the PBS (Tier 2 if you get a sponsor, Tier 4 student, etc) if you qualify for any of them.

Depending on which country you are from, you could apply for the Tier 5 Youth Mobility visa.
