Do business trips count towards Citizenship 90 days absence?

Hi,


I would like to know if I am currently counting days towards my citizenship the clause says I cannot be outside UK for more than 90 days in the preceding 12 months.

Does this include Business Trips as well if my office needs me to be outside UK as it is not my personal choice but a requirement of the UK contract.

Thanks for your reply. My total absences for the 5 year period when I applied for ILR were 96 days (including all personal and business travel). I received my ILR in August 2014, and due to receive my citizenship in August 2015. Since I received my ILR, I have been outside UK for 15 days.

I have now taken up a new job and they want me to travel extensively - so I wanted to know how fussy I should be about the 90 day limit if it is due to business trips.

There is a difference if you are working for UK based company. For absences over 90 days in the final year you will have to apply for discretion. Absences over 180 days will result in certain rejection.

HO treats absences that were due for working for UK based company differently than usual absences.
