Spanish Consulate asked to report back after my arrival

Post by smarter1 » Wed Dec 03, 2014 5:33 pm

Hello,

I have received my passport with Spanish visa today in London and they also gave me a letter saying that I must report back to them and show my passport with stamps, tickets and hotel receipts after my arrival back to UK.

A couple of offers came to my attention in relation to hotels in Spain and I consider cancelling my current hotel and booking a new one. Does anyone have any experience with the same issues? How would Spanish Consulate treat this?

Thanks in advance.

I have never heard of this before. What exactly does the letter say, word for word?

Please come back to Spanish Consulate within 14 days of your trip back to London and bring your passport, tickets and hotel receipts.

As long as you follow the original itinerary but merely change the hotel(s) then it should not any issue IMHO.

It seems to me that Spanish authorities were not fully convinced with your supporting documents / purpose travel but gave you benefit of doubt and issued the visa.

Thanks, this is what I thought as well. I have not cancelled my current hotel but just considering it. Will see, thanks for the advice.
