Visitor visa for my Bangladeshi parents and brother

Post by radders » Tue Jan 06, 2015 12:15 am

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if any of you could help. I am in the UK on a spouse visa. My husband is British and I am Bangladeshi. My parents and my younger brother are planning to visit us for the first time and I had some questions. Can they all apply on a family visit visa?

On the website it says their family member ust be a british citizen or permanently settled in the UK. Since I have not got my ILR yet, am I still considered to be settled in the UK? I am sure my parents can come on a family visitor visa if they are visiting my husband as the website says
They must also be related to you in one of the following ways:
- Spouse, civil partner, father, mother, son, daughter, brother or sister;
- Grandfather, grandmother, grandson or granddaughter;
- Spouse or civil partner’s father, mother, brother or sister;
- Son or daughter’s spouse or civil partner;
- Stepfather, stepmother, stepson, stepdaughter, stepbrother or stepsister;
But is does not say brother's/sister's spouse or civil partner. Does that mean my parents can apply on a family visitor visa and my brother has to apply for a visitor visa? Also, my brother is just 16. Does he need to apply for a child visitor visa even if he is accompanied by his parents?

They will all submit their application togeher as my dad is showing his bank account and sponsoring the trip. We have a 3 bed house here and they will be staying with us.

Do I need to send them my tenacy agreement, invitation letter as well as our marriage certificate? Since we are not paying for their travel and they are showing around 15000 in my dad's account for a 2 week trip for 3, do I still need to supply them with my payslip and bank statements?

Please help!
