Getting married on Tier 2 help!!!

Hi all experts and gurus,

I am Malaysian, currently on Tier 2 general visa.
My partner (British) and I are planning to get married in Sept
2016 in a church.
I know that we both have to give notice at the designated office in Norwich.
However, do we have to get a common license to get married in church too?

All advice and comments are welcome.

Not really an immigration related query though is it. Have you thought to speak to the church minister or contact the Registrars office at the council?
