Hello,

I have the exact same question!

My spouse visa runs from 22-11-2012 to 08-08-2015, and I want to book my appointment to apply for an extension on the last week of March. I am not sure if it is too soon! Any info regarding this?

I know that for permanent leave you cannot apply with more than a month in advance but there are no instructions in the UKBA website regarding extensions.

Thank you!

Within 28 days of your 27th month in the UK.

Kimak - Do you mean how many days you can be absent from the UK to remain eligible? If so, there is no exact figure as holidays, etc are allowed but anything longer than your average holiday would need to be explained.

Are you on the 5 year route??

If you apply in March for an extension, you will need another extension to cover the remaining 5 months as your extension now won't cover the period up to 5 years. You should only apply for your extension within 28 days before your current visa expires.

Hello,

Thank you very much for all of your help. I really appreciate it.

I am already on my 27th month (5 year route) but it does make a lot more sense to apply for the extension in July before my visa expires in August. I was trying to book my appointment on the website for the Premium Service of Glasgow; however, I think that they only show their availability for the next 3 months. I hope it is not because everything is booked already!

Cheers!

Luz

Appointments are only released and available to book 42 days in advance. Far too early now for July appointments.

Why are you waiting until July?

@SoHopeful - Because LuzPaton is applying for an extension on FLR(M) not ILR, so in order not to have a shortfall 2.5 years down the line, it is too early to apply now as another extension will be needed to cover the period as they are on the 5 year route.
