Can my non-EU wife travel to Europe with my father?

Post by StuCUK » Fri Feb 27, 2015 11:51 am

Hello, I hope someone can help me.

I'm British, my wife is Vietnamese. She has ILR, but no residency yet. She has been in the UK for four years. I know we could travel together to Europe with our marriage certificate. However, I am sick and unable to travel, so my father would like to take her and my son to Portugal for a bit of sunshine without me.

Will this be possible, does anyone know?

Many thanks,

Stuart

if you are not travelling with her, then she will need to apply for normal schegen tourist visa - by paying the full visa fee and submitting all documents.

even if you were travelling together, a visa would have been recommended (to avoid any hassle with travel especially with Stupid). However in this case - as a family member of a EU national - visa would be issued free of charge, with much less documentation.
