Visa category

Post by r1234 » Thu Mar 12, 2015 3:45 pm

Hi,

I am applying for UK Visa as my husband is in UK holding Tier 2 General visa sponsored by an A-rated sponsor. Now there is a confusion regarding which category to select. I am planning to stay there for 2 years and work also so should i apply for tier 2 general partner visa upto 3 years.

You are applying for a Tier 2 dependent visa (or partner visa) if you are using your husbands visa status.

Hi

I don't have job offer from any UK Company, will that create any problem in issuing visa as our agent said that offer letter is must otherwise it will get rejected and he is asking us to apply visa for tier 1 general partner Category.

Ignore the "agent" - s/he is giving you wrong advice.

With the PBS dependant visa you will be free to work in the UK if you so choose (except as a doctor in training). The visa is evidence of your entitlement to work and you don't need any further permission. The expiry date of your visa will be the same as your husband's.

read the guidance:
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... _07-14.pdf

apply online:

Type of visa: Work
Purpose of Application: Tier 2 General
Type of Application: Tier 2 General Partner

Supply evidence that your marriage is subsisting.

Thanks a lot for the information . I have started filling application form. Regarding documents for visa I have marriage certificate , maintenance letter from my husband's company wherein they agree to provide maintenance and accommodation to me , a document stating my husband's details like his date of joining , type of employment and salary on company's letter head , TB test document . If I am missing on any document , kindly let me know.
