Spouse Naturalisation

Post by SAPIENT » Sat Apr 04, 2015 11:37 am

Dear Friends,

This is regarding the naturalisation for candidates on ILR.

This is the current situation
Main Applicant : Entered in 2009 on Tier1-General [ 01-09-2009]
Main Applicant : Obtained ILR in 2014 based on 5 year stay.[01-10-2014]
Dependant Applicant : Entered in 2012 after Marriage [01-10-2012]
Dependant Applicant : Obtained ILR in 2014 based on 2 year stay in UK.[01-10-2014]

This is my query:
1) Can we both apply for Naturalization together? [on, say 01-10-2015?]

Many thanks,
Sapient

No because your wife does not meet the 5 year residence requirement to apply at the samd time as you. She has to meet the requirements herself.

Once you apply, are approved and attend your ceremony, she can apply as spouse of BC which is based on 3 years residence and providing she meets all the standard requirements, i.e LIUK, English B1 and within the 3 year absence limits.
