Applying for Tier-2 sponsorship from India

Post by leo2575 » Sat Apr 18, 2015 7:28 pm

Dear All,

I am planning to apply for Tier-2 sponsorship from India and visited few placement agenecies. They are charging 4 to 6 lacs as fee and i need to pay the rest from my pocket(sponsorship appl fee, visa fee, airfare etc.). They are not the actual employers and only pass on my application to some employers in UK. To be more precise they are no more than a travel agent taking care of all immigration related paper work. Is this normal or a con?

Please let me know so that i can choose wisely.

Thanks for your help in advance.

No it is not normal. You should not be paying a 'company' to sponsor you. The sponsor has to be the employer. The full list of Tier 2 sponsors is in the link below :

I would suggest you contact companies in the UK directly.

I too felt the same but wanted to be sure that I make the right decision.

Thanks for the list , it was helpful and good to know that there are so many sponsors for Tier2 visas.

I spoke to my friend in UK who says there is an job opening in their company which suits my skill set. But they are not willing to take contractors and don't do Tier 2 sponsorship.

So in such a scenario, can I get my sponsorship through one of these authorized employer and sub-contract to the actual company.

--Thanks
