Applying for british nationality after 6 years stamp differe

Post by andresp » Mon Apr 27, 2015 11:08 am

Hello This is my problem.

I got married may 2009 with an EEa antional,, and I have got the eea permit after 6 months in November , so that date vwas on my stamp, after five years in May I applied for ILR and they said NO because I had to apply in November, I rang the Home office explaining that they were wrong as i got married in may not in November, they recognized they were wrong and gave me the ILR staring iun July,

So I am thinking to apply in May for British nationality, but I am concerned that they were going to say that I need to apply in July, so Please could you help me out with that, it is ok if I apply in May or do I wait until July, still I am going to my local council to have everything checked, although i don't want to loose 70 pounds

Thanks

The ILR starting stamp is July, so personally to avoid confusion and hassle, I would just wait for two more months and apply on or after July.

You must have PR (EU route) not ILR (UK Immigration route).

Either way, you have to wait 12 months on PR/ILR before you can apply for citizenship. The only time you can apply sooner is if your spouse is British.

Because your ILR/PR says July, Home Office will consider that date to be the start date of date you were free from immigration control.
