It is your choice but there is no need to return it to HO. Most people keep it as a reminder of the journey they have been on. Also, if BC passport is lost/stolen, then at least if urgent travel is required, you have the BRP if it is an ILR one.Regarding kid's BRP card, I'll either send it to Home Office by post by recorded delivery & covering letter or next time I travel abroad, I'll return it to the immigration officer at the airport.
That's good then, one less thing to worry. I'd thought Home Office will chase & possibly levy fine or late fees for failing to return BRP back to them upon acquiring citizenship. Strange that they don't ask for it.CR001 wrote: It is your choice but there is no need to return it to HO. Most people keep it as a reminder of the journey they have been on. Note that the Certificate of Registration conveys British nationality. A British passport doesn't.lawabidingimmigrant wrote:Out of curiosity, is there a quick guide or link which clarifies circumstances when the Certificate of Registration will be asked for & have to produced without fail in addition to British Passport? This will be very helpful to know.
