Settlement Visa for a baby who born in India

Post by Harichanda » Mon Apr 27, 2015 9:33 am

Hi,

I am holding ILR visa and my wife is on Tier 1 Dependent visa.We blessed a baby girl recently and planning to apply for a visa to bring here to UK.
Could you please share your thoughts on what forms to be filled along with VAF4A, Is it VAF4A Appendix 1 or Appendix 2 ?

A quick response is much appreciated.

Thanks
Hari

It will be a Tier 1 dependent and will be issued in line with your wife's visa.

On what basis did you get ILR (10 years long residence or Tier 1 5 years)?

Thanks for your reply. I am more confused now as I spoke to VFS office and they said that it will be settlement visa that I need to apply for my baby. But they didn't say what forms I need to submit.

Please note that I got ILR visa on Tier 1 5year basis.

Regards,
Hari

If your wife is on Tier 1 dep, then the baby will get a visa in line with the validity of your wife's visa as a Tier 1 dep. If your wife applies for a spouse of settled person visa, only then will the baby get a settlement visa.

When does your wife's visa expire?

You will also have to pay the new NHS surcharge for your baby, £200 per year payable upfront at point of application.

Thanks, Could you please send the link where I can find this information?
My wife's visa expires in March 2016.

Here's an example of a successful application.

Note that if your wife applies for a spouse settlement visa, then her qualifying period for SET(M) will be reset, which would be a shame.

Post by Harichanda » Thu Apr 30, 2015 3:28 pm

Hi,

I am planning to apply for a visa ( Tier 1 Dependent ) for my baby from India. Can anyone let me if I can pay the NHS Surchage (£200) from India (i.e from VFS office Hyderabad) before submitting our application ?

You pay it online at point of application as you need the IHS number, relevant link below for you.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I've registered with my baby details (Lead applicant) and added myself (as Main applicant) to pay the details and I am shocked to see the amount to pay. The amount it's shown on the system is Rs. 1,60,000.I think it's calculating based on the visa expiry date ( My visa expiry date is March 2023). But please note that I am on ILR and my wife is on PBS Dependent ( Visa till April 2016).

Is this okay if I don't give my details on this IHS registration as if I give my details, it's asking for my visa expire date and calculating the amount to pay ?

Please post your thoughts ?

Regards,
Hari

The thread below is a discussion about how to complete the form, perhaps it will clarify for you as I am not able to use the IHS system.

No, It's still not helping me out. This IHR registration website is really a nightmare. So, confusing.

It seems like there is no other option to pay the NHS fees from outside UK :(

Not sure if it would accept a partial payment ( 20,000 INR instead of INR 1,60,000 ).

Is it mandatory to have the main applicant details on IHR registration form ?

Regards,
Hari

Will do some research on the forum and see if I can find anything to help.

In the meantime, have tried contacting this UK number for advise?

No, It's closed now. It works based on Indian times.

Have a look at what this person did for his wife and child settlement visa, maybe try along those lines.

http://www.immigrationboards.com/immigr ... 85257.html

Also, on page 2 of the other link I already provide, a user posted this :
Ram001 wrote:Hi All,

I have done some research and in the form you need to choose that your

1) Wife is applying alone.
2) Enter details of yur Wife
3) in the Visa Route Select Settlement
4) VISA type as Wife
5) and Click on Calculate and you will get the £600 Sum.

Because you are already setled as ILR and she is applying alone to join you.

I am not sure if this is correct, but for me it seems to be.

Thanks
