Dad visit plz advise

Post by john84 » Sun May 03, 2015 12:09 pm

Hi All,

I am planning to apply 2 year long term visit visa for my widowed father in Karachi. He visited me only once 4 years ago for 60 days (on 6 months visit visa). Now I am thinking to apply 2 years instead of 6 months, and make him visit UK each year.

Can you please advise how difficult is it to obtain 2 years visa? if you have only traveled once to UK 4 years ago.
Shall I apply 6 months only ..if chances are slim of getting 2 years visa?

I am sponsoring him and have sufficient funds as proof and he also has sufficient savings to show ties and a reason to come back.

Please advise.
Thanks in advance.

Safest option in my opinion as he does not have a record of regular travel to the UK.
he also has sufficient savings to show ties and a reason to come back
He needs to show more than just savings to show strong ties and reasons to return.

if I put reason..as garndsons are growing up so he want to enjoy this phase while visiting them each year in summer...plus my son moved to a bigger house so it has ample space for my stay.

would that sound a good reason for them to grant 2 years?

He needs to show more than just savings to show strong ties and reasons to return.
he can show savings, current account, house on his name, plus one non-dependent son living with him...does this sound sufficient?
