Information required re VAF4A application

Post by kosymodo » Sat May 16, 2015 11:02 pm

Hi folks

I'm in the process of starting to complete a VAF4A application on behalf of my Argentinian fiancee. I need some help with regards to some of the questions/proceses, so hope that you're able to provide some assistance. These are the first of my inevitable long list of questions!

1) The form asks for details of her Mother and Father. She has never known her biological father, and is confident her Mother wouldn't even be able to tell her very much about him. How can this be tackled in terms of completing the form?

2) Should any supporting documents be originals, or will copies suffice?

3) In terms of evidence of communications between us, these have been carried out in a mix of Spanish and English. Do we need to get the Spanish translated into English?

4) Her English proficiency will have to be tested via IELTS. Does this need to be done before or after submitting the application?

5) She has only recently returned to Argentina after having been with me in the UK for 6 months. Prior to leaving Argentina last year, she quit her job. Therefore she's now unemployed. Would it be a good idea for her prior employer to write to say that he supported her decision to visit the UK, or is this irrelevant?

6) Are her finances relevant to this application? Obviously, as her sponsor, mine are, and I have no issues in proving my income etc. However, will she have to give any details of her historic income etc?

7) I live in privately rented accommodation. I have lived here for 13 months. My tenancy agreement was for an initial 6 months, and is now a Periodic tenancy, rolling on a month by month basis. Is this OK, or should I get a new tenancy agreement to satisfy UKVI?

8) As for evidence of our relationship, I can supply a full transcript of all WhatsApp communications between us over the past 15 months. However, this will run (at present) to 1690 A4 pages! Should I print all of these pages? If not, how would I choose what to print?

I think that's all for now!!! Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

1) I guess write an explanation in additional information section, you cant obviously lie and make things up...
2) Yes Original or copies stamped by a solicitor or similar recognised body.
3) I dont think the care much about what was said, screenshot and then explain in english roughly what is shown. Take screenshot of variious times to cover the whole period that you want to put forward as evidence
4) before you submit this application
5) dont know
6) I think it depends, if you are sponsoring her, then your one are the only one relavant and be put in the Appendix 2 which is filled in addition to the online form. She can take a letter from employer to support this application but her finances should not be taken into account. unless this is for the reason to meet the financial requirement
7) Probably good idea to get a inspection report, make sure the place you live is not over crowded, read the stick notes on overcrowding in this form.
8) I am presenting screen shots selected over the whole period, to prove we have kept in contact. I dont think they wwant to go through that many pages...

I hope that helps. Please also wait for others to share their views as well.

Another question...

Which documents do we get stamped/signed by a solicitor (or similar)? Is it the original (Spanish) documents, is it the translations, or is it both?

Another question for you knowledgable people! Hope someone will answer...

Is there any need for my fiancee (i.e the applicant) to submit her birth certificate? I've seen conflicting answers on other sites
