Visit visa - sponsorship?

Hi
Can someone help with visit visas please.
My wife would like her mother to visit which would be for a maximum of 2 months.

Can someone help with the process. Someone said I need to sponsor her and send a sponsorship form first before she can apply but I cant find anything regarding this on the border agency or gov.UK website.

The applicant will need to provide evidence of ties to home country to convince the ECO that they will leave the UK. There have been many refusals recently. I will move your thread to the General Immigration section.

If she is coming for 2 months for example how much money would she need to show she has to say she can support herself and can I say I will support her? And how do I do that?

You can provide support and you would write a letter. She will need to provide a lot of documents to prove her personal circumstances in home country, including bank statements, income proof, property details if she has, family ties, etc etc.
