T2 General licence processing time and related questions

Post by syounusa » Sat May 23, 2015 2:11 pm

I am a silent reader of this board and it has been a fantastic source of information for me in last years.
I would like to know how long is the processing time for T2 G sponsorship licence at this moment. Actually my employer's licence has been expired in early May 2015 (newly appointed HR manager did not realise that prior to expire) and when I told them for my visa extension they then quickly applied for licence on 21st May 2015, HO requested for supporting documents (audit, employees records etc etc) which my employer sent to them next day with recorded delivery. My T2 visa is expiring middle of July 2015. The same employer provided me T2 sponsorship in 2012 (switched from PSW) and the job I am working is in shortage list. I am worried if I get CoS in right time to apply for extension. For worst case senerio, If I dont get CoS before my visa expiry what are my options as I dont want to overstay and I have a plan to apply for ILR in March 2016 under 10 year rule.

Please reply your recent experience, I have read some interesting and successful story in this blog but that was a bit old (back in 2012/2013)

Thanks

It usually takes months to process sponsorship license application but if your HR request urgent processing by mentioning your current visa expiry date to the UKVI sponsorship license team then the process can be quick as well.

All, I am concerned of is that you should not be working at the minute for your employer if they do not hold the license anymore. Not sure, RLMT would apply on you or not in this scenario?

I think moderators and other experts on this forum should have better advice.

Thanks,
Hassan

My employer recently got the license renewed and it took almost 8 weeks to process. The new license application can take bit longer than 8 weeks.

Hi Anoops1984,

Sorry, I am diverting this topic little bit but can you let me know (if you are informed) when your employer renewed their license, did they had to send all the documents again which usually required for new sponsorship application or they just renewed it by paying the relevant fees?

Thanks,
Hassan

Thanks every one for your reply, Fortunately my HR manager informed me yesterday that he has got provisional sponsorship reference number and the application has been acknowledged by HO and he also hoped that I may get the CoS later this week. Today I checked the T2 Sponsor register and found my compay name on the list which was not there even yesterday.
So I am nearly there as they would send the licence details by post (not confirmed though) which takes couple of days more.
My company lodged the licence application 12th may 2015.

@ Hasan, I have been woeking 3 years in this company in the job which is Short Listed, so I think I dont need any RLMT if I am wrong please correct me.

Thanks

Hi Syounusa,

Pleased to know that things have sorted out for you. Yes, no RLMT would be needed if your job is in shortage occupation list. Do let us know the outcome of your application. Wish you all the best.

Thanks,
Hassan

Hi,

I have received CoS number today successfully and now getting raedy to send application.

I got few more Q's:

1) I got CoS reference number X Y X Y X YYYYY X (X is letter and Y is number): do you know all the letters are capitals? because I am confused between I(i) and l(L)
2) Do I have to submit online application or I can send paper application without doing online?

Thanks

In my COS it was printed all in caps. You can double check with your employer and can also ask for the print out of COS.

2) Do I have to submit online application or I can send paper application without doing online?

I am not sure about this bit. I think just online option is available when you apply by post and paper application when applying in person. You can check this information easily on the UKVI website.

Thanks

Hi
I have sent the application last week.
I have a quick question.
I have filled in online application with normal case but my name on my passport is all capitals. Is that be an issue as long as the spelling and name segments are right and there is no any mandatory instruction for online application to write capitals as oppose to hand written application.

Has any one got any experience, please share.

Thanks

Hi
Does any one know that:
In IHS portal “Request Refund” in action column disappearance means the application processed successfully?

Thanks

@syounusa, It seems to be UKBA have processed your application and debited your IHS surcharge and the payment for the application (confirm, if debited) and soon you will know the result.
