Applying for Tier 2 Visa Fresh

Post by zahiqbal » Fri Jul 10, 2015 10:50 pm

Hi,

I am going to apply for the tier 2 visa as a software developer. I have few questions mentioned below please answer it asap. Thanks

[*] As a software developer what wage code it should be and pay rate also.

[*] I did not receive my degree yet is it fine to apply with the marks sheet and university letter.

[*] The job code which I think is 2136 and wage should be 24000 annual. Can I apply for direct 5 years visa or I have to apply for only 3 years first.

[*] What documents other the transcripts I need to attach and what is the procedure for the premium service.

Thanks
Zahid

Reply to your question

SOC 2136 is the perfect coe matches for Software developer. SOC 2136 (2015 guidacne). new entrant salary 24000 should be mentioned on certificate

[*] I did not receive my degree yet is it fine to apply with the marks sheet and university letter. your detials stating your course start
if you have passed your course and have not received the result's/degree. the best way is to ask your student center to issue a letter in your name on Uni letter head with start date and end date of course, course name etc. it must state that you have passed the course and waiting for original trascripts/degree. I used the same sort of letter for Tier 2 as I didnt have paper evidence like transcript or degree

[*] The job code which I think is 2136 and wage should be 24000 annual. Can I apply for direct 5 years visa or I have to apply for only 3 years first.
yes you can apply for direct 5 years if your employer is happy to issue you a Cos of 5 years.

[*] What documents other the transcripts I need to attach and what is the procedure for the premium service.
completed application form
COS
Degree/ result (if not then letter from UNI/college)
passport
old valid leave in UK
2 x passport photos

NOTE: you letter for uni must state that degree was taught in English as it will full fill 2 evidences

Exemption of RLMT (tier 4 to tier 2)
english requirement exempt if you have UK degree

i wish you all the very best :D

Last question what is the procedure for the premium service and how much it will cost and also do I need to apply online first and then should go for the either premium or standard service.

yes. you can select this option once you submit your application

you need to submit a cover page with oyur application which can be printed once you book your appoitment. this can be done when you submit your application.

SOrry i dont know the link for premium service but it does shows the fees 951 pounds plus premium charges for visa upto 3 years

Please double check below

Hi Zahid,

You need to fill online form 1st and then you can book for appointment:

Online application:
https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... r2-general

Regarding premium service, you may need to book appointment using the following link (not confirmed, experts may suggest for exact link):
https://apply.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/iapply.portal

The discussion on following forum may also be helpful:
http://www.immigrationboards.com/uk-tie ... 62919.html

I am also applying for Tier 2 with same SOC "2136" like you and I have not received degree yet and will be using my transcript and university letter confirming my result.

Thanks,
Masood Ahmed

Yes you can. However, please note that if you decide to use the new entrant rate, you cannot apply for a 5 years visa. The new entrant rate can only be used to get a visa for 3 years.

If you apply for the 5 years visa, you will need to use the EXPERIENCED rate.

Hi Guys,

One of my colleague is actually confusing me about the application. I have few more questions in detail could anybody please help to answer it.?

1) I am applying as a new entrant on SOC code 2136, the salary requirement for the new entrant is £24,000 my employer is happy to pay me £24,000. Now if my salary level is that of a new entrant can I get Tier 2 visa for 5 years at once. I need to clarify this as one of my colleague has confused me by saying that in order to get Tier 2 visa for 5 years in one go, my salary level need to be of an experienced worker which for the SOC code 2136 is £31,100.

2) If I am able to get the Tier 2 visa for 5 years in one go based on the new entrant salary (£24, 000), is there any requirement that my salary level should be increased to a certain amount (experienced worker salary £31,100) within the 5 years of being on Tier 2.

3) I am currently living in Manchester and my employer is in Leeds, I am looking for an accommodation in Leeds but can I make the Tier 2 application based on my Manchester address, this Manchester address will also go in the COS is that OK?

4) Once my employer issues a COS and lets say we find a mistake on it, can my employer amend/edit the same COS or he has to get the new COS from home office and then issue me a new COS.

1. Your colleague is correct. For a visa for more than 3 years, you need to be paid an experienced rate.

2. Not applicable.

3. Should be fine. You will have to update home office about your change of address once you get the visa and move to Leeds.

4. Be careful not to make any mistakes. Why you want to over-complicate the process.

How much in advance can I apply for Tier 2 visa

Post by zahiqbal » Mon Jul 20, 2015 9:22 am

Hi,

1) If my employer issues my COS with the start date of 20 August 2015 and end date of 19 August 2018, how long in advance can I apply for the Tier 2 visa using the same day premium service.

2) If I can apply three weeks in advance using the premium same day service then what will be the issue and expiry date of my Tier 2 visa. Would my Tier2 Visa expire three years from the day I get the visa or would it expire on 19 August 2018 as in question 1.

Tier 2 Application

Post by zahiqbal » Sat Jul 25, 2015 11:11 pm

First of all, I would like to thank members of this forum for answering my queries. I have couple more questions regarding my Tier 2 General application which I will be applying in August.

I am currently on Tier 4 visa and completed my degree in July, my employer has issued me a COS and I have couple of questions related to it:

1) For the resident labour market test question on my COS, the employer has put down: "RLMT does not apply as the migrant switching from Tier 4 to Tier 2". Do you guys think this information is sufficient?

2) When the COS was issued I was living in Manchester (hence it has my Manchester address as the migrant address) now I have just moved to Leeds (where my employer is based), do you think before applying for the VISA application I should ask my employer to change the address on my assigned COS by adding a note, what other information on the online system does my employer have to update. OR do the employer has to issue a new COS?

Any guidance will be much appreciated.

Please keep your queries regarding your "single" Tier 2 application under a single topic.
