ILR for dependent over 18 living independtly

Post by Raz95 » Tue Jul 07, 2015 10:20 pm

Hello Everyone

I am new to the website and would really appreciate some support in my matter.

I am a dependent on my mothers Tier 1 Visa and will qualify for ILR this August 2015. Unfortunately, 8 months ago, my home situation became intangible and very emotionally abusive which resulted in me running away from home. I moved about five miles away from home and have been renting in shared accommodation since then. I have also been working full time. The situation has now changed and my relationship with my mother has been amended but I still live alone.

My question is, would my mother be able to include me as her ILR dependent since I have been living independently?

My second question is would I be able to apply for ILR in my own right as an adult?

Please please help as I am looking to go to university this year and I feel that this situation has arisen at no fault of my own.

I look forward to your responses.

Vinny, would the OP need to stop working to maintain his 'dependent on mother' status for ILR?

Dear Vinny

Thank you for your reply. If I was to change back to my mother, would the home office not need to see proof, i.e. bank statements, and if I did, how far dating back would they need to be?

Kind regards,

Have a look at the SET(O) and guidance forms to see what they require.
