Child Benefits after ILR

Post by jnikki4u » Mon Aug 10, 2015 11:50 pm

Hi,

I have received ILR in June and would like to know if I am eligible for any child benefits or not ?

1. I am in Mat leave
2. I used to get more than 50K before mat leave.
3. My husband is on Tier1 Dep - With no recourse to public funds.
4. We have applied for MN1 Certificate and still waiting.

Kidly help as I have no idea and could not infer from the gov.uk site.

Cheers
Nikki

You can claim if you qualify. However, if your joint household income exceeds £40K (maybe £50K), unlikely you will qualify for it.

Are you going going back to work or have you left your job?

Hello CR001,

I am still in Maternity leave and will be till year end.

My spouse is works as a free lancer through own limited company. Ideally his salary is 10,800 apart from Dividends. I get only 500 GBP as SMP.

So you think we dont qualify for it ? I have gone through the gov.uk site but still not understanding :-(.

Please help

Cheers
Nikki

Complete the calculator in this link (click). Do it as if you are British otherwise you won't be able to go the next page. Complete all the information it asks for and you should get a fairly accurate result.

Alternatively, phone HMRC Child Benefit help line.
