Hello please help
I have over stayed my discretionary leave to remain for over a year and i want to renew it but my my solicitor is advising me that the chance of it been successful is very slim but i think i should be successful after a appeal because i have my whole family here and no one to go back in my country of origin.
My solicitor is advising me to either send my visa in for renewable with a slim chance of it been successful or get married to my girlfriend who lives in France at the moment and is a French national ( can i married her if she comes over here) or wait for 2 more years and by then i will be 25 and would have spend half of my life here as i came to the uk when i was 12.
What should i do please help i want to get status as i am tired of been worried and want to go to university but i couldnt go to uni with a discretionary leave to remain because student finance would support it.
Please help

If your fiancee is your future & she lives in France it seems clear your future lies in France.
One advantage of France is the higher education system with fees at bachelor level as low as 181 Euros per year.

Unlikely you will be able to get married in the UK as an overstayer. You have to give 28 days notice to an approved Registrar to marry and they have an obligation to inform HO of non-EU citizens wanting to get married and then the notice can be extended to 70 days while HO conducts checks and investigation.
