Help to buy

Post by Hope2015 » Fri Oct 16, 2015 8:18 pm

Hi all
Wondering if anyone can help, basically my wife has come over on a spouse visa. I am british and we are living with my parents. I know as part of the terms of her Visa i am not allowed to have any recourse to public funds which includes social housing which i have no issue with however I wanted to know of I applied for the Help to Buy/IMR will this have an issue on her Visa or when it comes to renew the visa in 2017?
Any advise on this would be a major help :)
Thanks

No effect, it is not public funds in the definition for immigration purposes.

Take a look at this HO guidance on this mAtter:
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... 2_0EXT.pdf

Can't remember when Help to Buy was rolled out (2013/2014?) anyway it's not mentioned as being prohibited in this document.

You could also track this related FOI request (or make your own request):
