Tier 2 ICT Short Term to Any other Visa Category to remain

Hi,

I am currently holding Tier 2 ICT Short term visa and am working in UK and it is valid for 6 more months. I recently got a job offer where employer is willing to provide a Visa and it is on permanent basis. Is there chance for me to switch the job immediately to remain in UK. Is there any cooling off period for me? Please suggest? do I need to go back to my home country and apply for the Visa? and what Visa do I need if wanted for a long term? As the job offer that I have received is on permanent basis. I do not want to lose it. What are the options for me. Please suggest. What Visa type will get me stay here?

12 month cooling off period. How long have you been in the UK? Is your job on the shortage occupation list? Do you earn in excess or been offered in excess of £155k?

Yes

and what Visa do I need if wanted for a long term?

There is only one you can apply for, Tier 2 General. Unless you have a British spouse or spouse who has ILR as then you can switch in country to a spouse visa. For Tier 2 G, your new employer will also have to complete the proper RLMT process etc.

am I eligible for Tier 2 General? Can my new Employer immediately apply for a Tier 2 General Visa? Should I go back to India and then apply for a Visa If so what would be the Visa processing time?

You will be subject to the 12 month cooling off period, which starts from the date you leave the UK, if you want to change sponsors and apply for a Tier 2 General.
