Tier 2 General rules Clarity

Post by tanuj.saluja » Thu Dec 03, 2015 1:54 am

Hello All

I recently visited the Apply to Settle page https://www.gov.uk/settle-in-the-uk/y/y ... neral-visaI found the following.

The 5 years can include time in the UK on a Tier 2 (Intra-Company Transfer) visa if one of the following applies:

the continuous residence includes a period of leave granted under the Tier 2 (Intra-Company Transfer) rules in place before 6 April 2010
the continuous residence includes time where you had a work permit granted because you were the subject of an Intra-Company Transfer.

I need some guidance wrt above on my case. My VISA status in UK has been the following
Jan 2011 - Tier 2 ICT
Aug 2014 - Tier 2 General

I have two questions
1) Am I eligible for ILR in Jan 2016 based on the above statements
2) If not, how much further can I extend my current Tier 2 General Visa? (I read a post about some rule changes made in Nov 2014.

You help would be really appreciated.

1. No

2. You will qualify in 2019 after 5 years on Tier 2 General. You can extend Tier 2 General for up to 6 years.

Also note that from April 2016, there are changes to the salary requirements.
