BRP Name Change

I hope someone can help, I received ILR last November 2014 and my BRP in February this year. (my BRP is in my maiden name) I have since then have renewed my passport and changed to my married name. I want to change my surname on my BRP now, but the forms advised to use is the NTL and the fee is £260? Is this correct? It seems ridiculously expensive to me!
Has anyone done this recently and followed this route?
I have seen some questions on this forum about name change using form BRP RC. Can I use this form as the fee is only £45 and seems more reasonable

If I had of known this was the cost I would have renewed my passport and kept it in my maiden name!

You can only use BRP RC for the following applications

•if your BRP has been lost, stolen or damaged;
•if your BRP has expired after receiving indefinite leave to remain;
•if you are a refugee (recognised under the 1951 Convention) and your ISD
has been lost, stolen, damaged, expired; or you want to replace your ISD with
a BRP;
•if you have been granted humanitarian protection and your ISD has been lost,
stolen, damaged, expired; or you want to replace your ISD with a BRP

The question you ask is one I have been investigating because we were considering changing my wife’s passport / BRP over to her married name.

I agree with you comment that the cost is ridiculous. It's changing one name

which does confirm we would need to use form NTL. I have also looked at all the forms and NTL is the only one with a box (1.19) to say "I have married". Unfortunately I am 99% sure that is the right form. Did you ever get a concrete answer to confirm?

Your original post was a couple of months back. If you have done this, I would be interested to know whether you had to re-submit your bio-metrics details (presumably yes) and roughly how long did it take to get your updated BRP from START - FINISH.
