NHS Surcharge overpaid due to Change of Employer

Post by bearlzm » Mon Dec 14, 2015 4:47 pm

Dear Sir or Madam,

I renewed the Tier 2 work permit with the current employer in October, and obtained the visa for 3 years covering between Dec 2015 to Nov 2018. Now I face to a potential redundancy and have received an offer from another employer. If I apply the Tier 2 work permit with the new employer for 3 years (I suppose the expire date is still Nov 2018, the same as the current visa due to reaching the maximum length of 6 years for Tier 2), I wonder if I shall pay NHS surcharge again or not. If not, I wonder what I shall do to avoid this overpayment. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Kind Regards,
Jamie

The surcharge has to be paid with each application you make. You can then sort out and request a refund of the other if it is not done automatically.

Bear in mind that your new sponsor will need to complete the appropriate RLMT process.
