Tier2 General vs. Tier 2 ICT

Dear Friends

I am evaluating a switch to London with my present employer (have been working with them for >12 months) and wanted to check if I can still apply for Tier 2 General (even though eligible for Tier 2 ICT). I understand Tier 2 ICT has many disadvantages (e.g. can't switch jobs later) and hence want to apply in Tier 2 General category only

Tier 2 General also leads to ILR after 5 years whereas Tier 2 ICT does not.

Tier 2 General is far better.

If you do apply for Tier 2 ICT and you want to switch jobs at some point and change to Tier 2 General, you will be required to the 12 month cooling off period before being able to apply for Tier 2 G.

Thanks CR001, I agree with all the benefits, hence my question if even though I am eligible for Tier2 ICT, can I still apply for Tier 2 General? Is there any rule that prohibits me applying for Tier 2 General?

No, but it would depend on your employer I suppose.
