I am looking for a way for my wife to move to England permanently, or at least for the foreseeable future.
I am a British citizen and my wife is a Chinese citizen. I am currently living in the UK and have been for my entire life, she is currently in China because her student visa ran out during the summer. We have been married since May 2015.
I believe the visa that applies the most to our situation and needs is a 'family of a settled person' visa. However, as I am currently a student and cannot work full-time I do not meet the necessary financial requirements (i.e. my income per year is not high enough)
At the moment our plan is to just wait until I finish my studies and have a sufficent job, then apply for this visa after I have had that income for a period of 6 months.
I am wondering if there is a way that we could get a visa sooner than this, as it will take a long time to reach that stage.
Is it possible for us to apply for this visa (or a different one) using my parents income rather than my own?
